Comparison tables

Simple solar comparison tables before you buy

These tables are not product rankings. They help you compare quote quality, battery claims, inverter details, feed-in value, and rebate support without needing a huge product database.

Solar quote inclusions

Use this to make two quotes easier to compare.

AreaGood quote includesWeak quote sign
HardwarePanel, inverter, battery, optimiser, and mounting model numbersTotal price only
FinancialsSTC value, battery support, state rebate, loan, and VPP offers separatedOne bundled discount with no source
DesignRoof layout, orientation, shading assumptions, export limits, and annual productionGeneric production estimate
SupportWorkmanship warranty, product warranty, monitoring, and claim pathwayWarranty claims left vague

Battery warranty comparison

Check these before trusting a battery payback estimate.

CheckWhy it matters
Usable capacityCompare usable kWh, not only nominal capacity
WarrantyLook for years, cycles, throughput, and end-of-warranty capacity
BackupConfirm if backup is included, which circuits are backed up, and extra hardware cost
Rebate eligibilityConfirm approved product, installer, battery size, and commissioning rules

Inverter red flags

Red flagWhat to ask
Missing model numberYou cannot compare efficiency, warranty, monitoring, or compatibility
Poor inverter locationHeat, rain, and direct sun can shorten life
No monitoring detailYou may not know when the system underperforms
Battery-ready claim without detailAsk what future battery options are actually supported

Feed-in and rebate checks

Feed-in tariffs should be compared against usage rates, supply charges, and time-of-use pricing. A higher export rate can still produce a worse bill.

Rebates should be separated from finance support. STCs, state rebates, VPP incentives, and loans are different things and should not be bundled into one unexplained discount.
